Written on

The upcoming AFC Champions League II Round of 1/8 match between Arkadag (Turkmenistan) and Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia) will mark a milestone in the history of sports broadcasting in the country. The live broadcast, scheduled for February 11, 2026, will rely on advanced telecommunications solutions to deliver the signal to audiences in 168 countries worldwide.

The key component of the international signal distribution is the national communications satellite TürkmenÄlem52°E. In close technical cooperation with European satellite operator Eutelsat, the satellite network will ensure high-quality content delivery to 39 foreign media platforms that have acquired broadcasting rights for the match.

Production at the Ashgabat Olympic Stadium will be carried out using 14 cameras, fully complying with the premium standards required for major international football tournaments. More than 220 technical specialists — including broadcast engineers, operators, and IT coordinators — are involved in the project.

For the domestic audience, coverage will be provided by Turkmenistan Sport TV. Viewers will be able to follow the match with commentary in both Turkmen and English, highlighting the event’s status as a truly international media product.

The successful implementation of a project of this scale, featuring internationally renowned football clubs, demonstrates Turkmenistan’s high level of technological readiness to host and broadcast sporting events of global importance.
