A combined-cycle power plant being built on Turkmenistan's Caspian Sea coast will enable electricity exports across the Caspian Sea to neighboring countries, including Türkiye, and from there to other countries. This was announced by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting with Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Çalik Holding Group of Companies, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The meeting took place within the framework of the head of state's working visit to the Balkan velayat. The President of Turkmenistan highlighted energy projects and noted the export potential of the new power plant.

Ahmet Çalık expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss priority areas of cooperation. He noted that the opening ceremonies for new facilities and groundbreakings in the Balkan velayat demonstrate Turkmenistan's growing economic strength. The businessman emphasized that large-scale projects have been implemented in the country since independence, noting that it is a great honor for his company to contribute to their implementation.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the warm, friendly and fraternal ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye have been steadily strengthening since the first years of independence. The meeting emphasized that Turkmen-Turkish relations, rooted in ancient times, are developing and gaining new meaning. Cooperation is successfully developing in energy, textiles, construction, and other economic sectors.
