In accordance with the Decree signed by the Honorable President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Ministry of Automotive Roads was authorized to conclude contracts for the design and construction of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway with a total length of 546 kilometers, as well as a new 812-meter-long road bridge along the route. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Additionally, the document provides for the thorough modernization of existing bridges along this highway. The project will be implemented within the framework of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028."
A number of major projects have already been successfully implemented under the established road construction programs in the country. Notable among them are the phased commissioning of the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway, which fully complies with international standards, as well as the operation of dozens of modern road bridges, multi-level interchanges, and new street-road networks in the regions and the capital.
These under-construction and already commissioned facilities play a vital role in enhancing the country's transport and transit infrastructure. The development of high-quality road infrastructure not only ensures the speed and safety of domestic cargo and passenger transportation but also creates significant opportunities for strengthening Turkmenistan's strategic role in international transport corridors and elevating interregional economic cooperation to a new level.
