Written on

Under the auspices of the UN, it is proposed to establish an International Center for Sustainable Trade Logistics and Customs Cooperation in Turkmenistan, as well as a new interregional transport corridor connecting South and Central Asia with Europe via the Caspian Sea. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, equipped with modern material and technical infrastructure and inspection and analytical systems, declares its full readiness to implement these international initiatives and ensure the seamless operation of the future center. This was reported by the press service of the state agency. These strategic initiatives were announced by Vepa Hajiyev, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, during his statement at the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The full text of the statement was published on the official website of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN. The implementation of these projects implies the harmonization of customs regulations, acceleration of customs clearance processes, digitalization of transit operations, and adoption of best practices at land and maritime borders. Furthermore, this step will create broad opportunities for developing nations to gain unimpeded access to global markets and will significantly strengthen the positions of Turkmenistan and the entire region in the international trade and logistics system.
