For the first time, a representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan completed an international training course for responsible customs officers on the identification of narcotic drugs and enforcement of narcotic drug legislation (“International Course for Senior Officer of Customs on Narcotics Identification and Narcotics Law Enforcement”).

The course was held from August 10 to 21 in Malacca, at the Royal Malaysian Customs Academy (AKMAL), within the framework of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), according to the Service's website.

During the training, special attention was paid to the exchange of experience between the customs administrations of the participating countries and the development of international cooperation.

Participation in the program allowed participants to gain insight into the experience of the Royal Malaysian Customs Service, the organization of customs control at the international airport and seaports, and the application of modern technologies in the customs sphere.

The first trip under this program was an important step in developing professional ties between the customs authorities of Turkmenistan and Malaysia and created additional opportunities for further exchange of experience and strengthening international customs cooperation, the source noted.
