Turkmenistan Plans Construction of Five Ships

The Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant plans to build two Ro-Ro ferries and three cargo vessels in the near future, the State Service for Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan reported Friday.

Currently, the plant is constructing two cargo ships and one dredger.

Since its launch, the plant has carried out repair work on various vessels, completing orders on time and to a high standard.

The Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant has an annual capacity to process 10,000 tons of steel for the construction of four to six new ships, as well as 2,000 tons of steel for the repair of 20–30 vessels.
