A flag-raising ceremony was held today in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza,” marking the official opening of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, TDH reports.

The ceremonial event was attended by representatives of official delegations from Turkmenistan and the United Nations. During the ceremony, the flags of the host country and the UN were raised, symbolizing the start of the conference.

Hosting such a large-scale international forum in Turkmenistan holds special significance, as it coincides with two important anniversaries: the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

The conference is being attended by heads of state, as well as leaders and representatives of international organizations. The event aims to address key issues of sustainable development, including energy, transportation, environmental protection, and ecology.
