A number of initiatives aimed at enhancing legal cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan were discussed during a meeting in Tokyo between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Atadurdy Bayramov, and Japan’s Minister of Justice and member of the House of Representatives, Keisuke Suzuki. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reported on the meeting.
The parties discussed the further strengthening of bilateral relations, including improvements in the legislative frameworks of both countries within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue.
The Japanese side proposed several initiatives to deepen mutual understanding and legal cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.
Ambassador Bayramov invited Minister Suzuki to visit Turkmenistan and informed him about the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will take place in the National Tourist Zone of Avaza from August 5 to 8.
The ambassador also informed the minister about a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat on December 12.
Both sides agreed to continue working on the implementation of Turkmenistan-Japan initiatives within the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue, the source noted.
