National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the flower-laying ceremony at the memorial complex "Halk hakydasy" in Ashgabat dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, TDH reports.

The Chairman of the Mejlis, members of the government, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations, heads of ministries and departments, military and law enforcement agencies, public organizations, mass media, honorary elders and youth also took part in the solemn event.

After the performance of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan, flower arrangements were laid at the monuments on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. The National Leader paid tribute to the memorials "Milletiň ogullary", "Ruhy tagzym" and "Baky şöhrat". Then Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, together with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, elders and home front workers, laid flowers at the monument "Baky şöhrat".

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty talked to the war veterans, spouses of war participants and home front workers present at the ceremony, congratulating them on Victory Day.

Our state will continue to take care of the older generation, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty said, emphasizing that this work will always be in the spotlight.

After the ceremony, the National Leader, together with members of the government and heads of security agencies, visited the museum and got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the exploits of the Turkmen people who died in the battles of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
