During the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan, 15 bilateral documents on cooperation were signed, TDH reports. The agreements cover a wide range of areas, including energy, chemical industry, water management, education and finance.

Among the key documents are framework agreements on the construction of a second gas-to-gasoline processing plant in the Ahal velayat and a urea plant with a capacity of 1.155 million tons per year in the village of Gyyanly in the Balkan velayat. The parties also agreed on the overhaul of the Gyyanly polymer plant.

In the energy sector, a framework agreement on cooperation on projects to convert open-loop power plants to a combined cycle was signed. Several memorandums were concluded between Turkmen universities and Japanese companies in the field of education and technology.

During the visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening of the EXPO-2025 exhibition in Osaka, where Turkmenistan was the first among about 160 participating countries to successfully hold its National Day. A meeting with Emperor of Japan Naruhito was also held in Tokyo.

Representatives of Japanese business noted the great potential for the implementation of joint projects and expressed their readiness not only to provide their advanced technologies, but also to promote the development of imports of Turkmen products.
